Why do you want my phone number and postcode?
We use these to uniquely identify your assessment - without identifying
you personally - and to enable us to contact you if we want to check
your assessment. You can call us back to confirm that we are indeed
HousePartners.
Do you pass on my details to others?
Absolutely not. Your details remain confidential to HousePartners
Can a tradesman find out from HousePartners that I assessed
their firm?
Absolutely not. Your assessment cannot be identified from the ratings
in TradeReport and FirmReport.
Why is my tradesman not already listed on TradeFind?
Probably because we don't have their details.
Why are you only interested in Edinburgh and Lothians firms?
HousePartners are focusing here to build up TradeFind
for this area.
Does my assessment go straight onto TradeFind?
No, there can be a delay of up to a week while we check out your
assessment before putting it onto TradeFind.
Why do HousePartners check out assessments?
We check them to ensure that they're complete and genuine.
Do my ratings go onto TradeFind exactly as I write them?
Yes, provided that we believe your assessment is genuine.
Do my comments go onto TradeFind exactly as I write them?
In most cases, yes. We do reserve the right to edit or delete comments
which we believe to be unhelpful or unnecessary. You should not
include details which could identify you. Such details may be edited
out by HousePartners.
Will you use my name and address to bombard me with junk mail?
Absolutely not. You will only hear from us if you've asked for
more information, and we'll take you off our mailing list whenever
you want.
Why should I take time to give you information which you then
sell on?
There are four benefits for yourself, other houseowners like you,
and the homeless:
- You will get free reports in return for your assessments.
- You will qualify for a 10% discount voucher.
- The Consumers' Association rates products and services based
on customer feedback. They then publish and sell the reports for
the benefit of all consumers. We want to provide a similar service,
available to all houseowners. We need to recover the costs of
doing so while making a profit and being independent from tradesmen.
- We have mandated a significant percentage of our profits to
Shelter Scotland and to Big Issue Scotland International, both
selected as charities which work with homelessness and poor housing
in Scotland and overseas.
